i’m jumping to the end of the trip to guatemala, since i have pics of our last day, yesterday (the photos of the rest of the trip were taking by two other people, and i haven’t procured the pics yet). monday was our one “tourist day”, and whe spent it in the 14th century colonial spanish town of antigua. beautiful town, though a bit overrun with tourists. all cobblestone streets. tons of old churches. lots of color. here’s a taste:
this last one is at lunch, at a great little cafe, and includes gimena, who joined us for the day. gimena is the office manager of our ys office in buenos aires, and was in guatemala to work for the youth workers convention.

Thanks for the great posts from Guatemala. My wife and I recently spent a few months in Antigua while adopting our daughter from there (btw I am needing a Pollo Campero fix right about now.) I wish more people could experience what Max experienced (in your first entry). Thanks again for your work with Compassion.
Shalom,
Chris
karen — sorry, i don’t work for compassion. i have no way of finding out where your sponsor child lives. you could contact them about that.
as to what to bring, compassion also has great resources for that. contact their travel department.

I also help sponsor a child with Compassion from Guatemala whose name is Mateo Ulises Yax Jocol. Will you please check and see if he was in one of the places you visted? Thank you for the great work you do!
