They’re trying to make those cell phone jammers legal so movie theatres, etc., can block the signal … maybe that’s the direction churches will have to go some day. Kinda pathetic that we would need to, though.

we took totally the opposite approach on sunday, actually tried a cell phone communion. http://www.emergentkiwi.org.nz/archives/texting_communion.php

My cell phone ring is The Hallelujah Chorus. At least if I accidentally forget to turn it off (which has yet to happen) it will be worship appropriate! :)

Glad to hear I am not the only one annoyed by cell phones ringing in church. What is even more annoying though is when the person picks up their phone, walks out of the sanctuary and takes the call in the hallway, what can really be that urgent, especially when it seems to be the same couple of people over and over again.

Ugh this drives me crazy.
Just put the thing on vibrate.
And if you absolutely MUST pick it up, silence the ringer before you walk out of the room. The people who walk out with the phone still ringing need to be flogged about the ankles.
